SCALE AND OPPORTUNITY
Situated within a wide valley 68 kilometres from Opotiki this 325 hectares more or less offers exceptional potential going forward. Converted from a beef unit the harder work has been completed, and now in its fourth season with a target production of 240,000 kg m/s from 680 cows. The new 60 bale rotary has been located centrally within the farm to focus the herd within a 1.5 kilometre radius. The dairy is automated, enabling a one labour unit shed and also controls the water supply and effluent system from the one control panel. Water is pumped from its source through a 90mm main line to storage tanks and the dairy, then around the farm via a Dosatron in 63mm main lines. Races have been constructed from on farm rotten rock materials to a very good standard. With vision the dairy unit has been designed to accommodate a 1000 cow herd as the property reaches its full potential. Houses consist of an eight year old four bedroom architecturally designed owners home set in mature grounds and two further staff houses. A large modern implement shed accommodates either machinery or calves and the woolshed aids in calf housing duties. Given the location the property is fortunate to receive a favourable annual rainfall of around 1600 to 1800mm, typically afford excellent summer production. Vendor will sell at $25,000 per hectare.
